Abstract:
This data represents the outline/footprints of existing buildings in Union County, NC as of 2007. Footprints were captured using 2007 aerial photography and are at least 500 square feet in size.
Purpose:
Building footprints are used to track exisiting structures in the county. This data is also used by various Union County departments.

This building footprint data was created by Spatial Data of High Point, NC in 2007. Internal quality checks were performed by the GIS department of Union County, NC.
Completeness_Report:
This dataset represents the footprints of all structures existing in Union County at the time that aerial photography was taken of the county in February 2007. Structures are defined by 4 categories: Primary, Primary Mobile Home, Secondary, and Secondary Mobile Home. Primary structures include buildings such as residential, commercial and industrial establishments. Secondary structures represent those buildings that are not considered primary establishments such as gas station canopies, residential outbuildings, barns etc. Primary Mobile Homes are structures that are considered fixed residential establishments. Secondary Mobile Homes are those that are considered supplemental and or minor structures.
