Abstract:
This dataset contains addresses for structures within Union County, NC. The data is based on 2007 aerial photography and is maintained and updated by the GIS department of Union County, NC. Please read the data quality and completeness report for more details.
Purpose:
Address points facilitate with the location of street addresses. Along with street centerlines, this data is used by dispatchers to help with routing of emergency personnel. This data is also used to more precisely geocode within the online mapping application when assigning a street address to a location.

Address point data was created by Spatial Data of High Point, NC in 2007. The data is based on the Orthophotography of the county which was obtained in February of 2007. Internal quality checks were performed by the GIS department of Union County, NC.
Completeness_Report:
The information for this data was provided by the Union County tax department as well as planning maps, which list addresses for individual properties. Some structures however were not provided with an address in these sources. Thus, address points for some structures are not available in the data. Addresses for structures constructed after the original creation of data based on 2007 Orthophotography may also not be available in this data. Furthermore, the data includes some duplicate addresses for multiple structures on the same property. This includes apartments, dorms, and or secondary structures that may exist for the same address. Some of these properties may have suite or apartment numbers associated with them, which may not have been available to the data creator at the time. In order to address these gaps in the data, the GIS Department of Union County is currently in the process of collecting the missing and correcting the duplicate information for this dataset manually through fieldwork.
